Biography

D. Cum Laude with European mention in Social Sciences didactics and lecturer in this area at the University of Huelva (Spain). Director of the East Asian Academic and Cultural Centre of the UHU and coordinator of the Japanese branch of the international teaching collective Innovagogía. Member of the COIDESO research centre, the DESYM research group and the inter-university network Red 14. With experience in organising and directing scientific events, his main line of research focuses on the teaching of history and social sciences, citizenship education and memory in the Spanish-Japanese context, as well as the use of ICT in the teaching of social sciences.

Citizenship Oriented to Justice in Higher Education: Didactic Experience and Revision in the Bachelor’s Degree in Primary School Education

Inequality is a relevant issue related to politics, society, culture, economy or history. In this way. Critical thinking is considered an essential step to allow teachers to educate for a citizenship oriented to justice in a school understood as the engine of social change. Moreover, several studies have shown the effectiveness of debates and argumentation in social sciences classes in other to teach significantly. This is possible starting from conflicts and socio-environmental realities in order to construct a truly democratic citizenship. According this, it is presented one of the latest versions of the didactic experience design, “let’s buy!”, in addition to the evaluation and reflection of this experience based on the information collected by the teacher’s diary, peer assessment and interview sheets for classroom group with a sample of 317 third-year students of the Bachelor’s Degree in Primary School Education at the University of Huelva. In general, in coherence with the results of some relevant researches on citizenship education and initial training of teachers and taking as a reference the reflection on the action, it is concluded that didactic experiences where socio-economic problems of the daily environment of students are analyzed can contribute to awareness and professional predisposition of future teachers to consider situations that could affect the teaching and learning process.

Experiencias en innovación docente y aportes de investigación sobre la praxis universitaria

«Las necesidades formativas en competencia digital son más que necesarias para poder relacionarse de una manera eficaz y acorde con las exigencias de unos cambios sociales y tecnológicos más que perdurables» (p. 168). Así pues, éstas se erigen como uno de los pilares fundamentales de esta obra, mediante la investigación acción de la propia práctica docente y, especialmente, de la toma de decisiones por parte del profesorado, para la mejora de la calidad educativa, en cualquier ámbito y muy especialmente en el universitario, como «formadores de formadores del mañana». Para tal fin, resulta indispensable promover el desarrollo de metodologías activas con el uso de las TIC (flipped classroom, serious games, método por proyectos, aprendizaje colaborativo, robótica). De esta forma, contribuir a la creación de entornos personales de aprendizaje, atendiendo a nuevos tópicos emergentes, con el uso de dispositivos digitales, para el desarrollo de un pensamiento autónomo y crítico en el alumnado. Por tanto, la innovación docente, enmarcada en la «era digital» y apoyada en evidencias empíricas contrastadas, supone uno de los mayores desafíos para la Universidad, en aras de garantizar un aprendizaje significativo, acorde con las exigencias sociales y de transferencia del conocimiento a la realidad.
